One of the many things I love about living in this community, is the small concentrated group of like minded people who enjoy the simple things in life. When a friend casually suggested on Facebook that we should meet up and have a late afternoon bonfire down at the river, she was delighted in how many turned up.
The sun was on it's way down behind the Tararua Ranges and the light was sparkling across the water like diamonds. The fire was warm and inviting as the children cooked their own kransky's and toasted marshmallows, blowing on them gently until they were cool enough to gobble up.
To be honest, for me, it doesn't get any more perfect than impromptu evenings like this.
