On Sunday we walked around Carters Reserve, one of our most favourite walking spots. It's a little taste of what this area use to be like ~ where swamp meets forest.
It has an ancient airy feeling about it and Charlie could imagine dinosaurs walking out of the trees and pterodactyls flying over head.
It's an easy walk with a walkway built over the swamp area.
Fascinating old trees, rare plants, insects and birds galore.
The boys concocting a plan....
it's an ambush!
After a few minutes the swamp turns into forest
Sadie found a vine like a swing
and lots of insects.
Then we came out into the open where we foraged for blackberries.
Heaven. xx
