New Rags Market this weekend and Heart Felt is filled with spring inspiration.
I will have the spring pixie bonnets, the usual felt play crowns and a new felt garland featuring a Kowhai flower design.
Spring is also the perfect time to reintroduce the vintage pillowslip dresses. So versatile, pretty and easy to wear as dresses or tops.
I found this on the internet this morning while trying to find a 'dog' craft for my 'Little Acorns' preschool group on Thursday.
It was discovered on the inside of a vintage cooking tin.
'Recipe for Preserving Children'
Ingredients
• 1 grassy field
• 1 half-dozen children (or more)
• Several dogs (and puppies, if available)
• 1 brook
• Pebbles
Method
1. Into field pour children and dogs, allowing to mix well.
2. Pour brook over pebbles till slightly frothy.
3. When children are nicely brown cool in warm bath.
4. When dry, serve with milk and fresh baked gingerbread.
It reminded me of growing up when we didn't have to worry about sun damage and we ran around like little brown berries all summer. It put a smile on my face.

Yes!
I had a fairy party in the weekend for us hard working mama's. We drank bubbly from posh tea cups, ate lovely food from fancy platters and wore our prettiest fairy wings. The tables were decorated with vintage linen, pink blossom and bright yellow kowhai flowers.
All fairies were very well behaved thanks to the magic fairy drops ~ although there were a couple of injuries (but that's another story) xx
So much has happened for Charlie this week ~ all very exciting for a five year old.
The football season has finished and Charlie and his team received a certificate, $5 and a shiny gold coloured medal.
Then we had our first visit from the tooth fairy!
and Charlie participated in his very first school production which was great fun!
Charlie and his friends were so cute ~ it put a tear in my eye.
What a week!
I cleaned Sadie's wardrobe out a couple of weeks ago and realized she's grown out of her summer bonnets, (which made me sad)
So I decided to make her one myself from some lovely recycled red cotton I had in my stash. The fabric originally came from some large homemade napkins I found at the thrift shop. I had to put a little 'Heart Felt' into it and made the bonnet into a 'pixie' bonnet which Sadie loves.
I have made some for you too. Two are in my Felt shop and one is listed on Trade Me. I definitely will be making more for my spring markets too.
The photographs were taken in the old plum orchard. Plum blossom has the most heavenly scent which the bees seem to love too.
Charlie was being a 'tree leopard' He can't resist a good tree to climb.

When I picked Sadie up from kindergarten a couple of weeks ago I was greeted by one of Sadie's teachers who's been working with Sadie and extending her interest in art. Jenni was excited by Sadie's recent piece reflecting on her memories of the day it snowed.
Sadie had drawn pictures of a snowlady, a snowman, herself and Charlie playing in the snow. She had carefully cut around each character and then pasted each piece onto a piece of pink card and painted snow on the ground and falling from the sky.
Sadie then confidently spoke in front of her class about her completed art work. The teachers then asked Sadie if they could frame it and hang it on the wall in the kindergarten which is a very special privilege indeed!
To top it off Sadie wrote a poem to go with her collage.
