What a glorious autumn day! I love Sunday, it normally consists of visiting the car boot sale (trunk sale) a coffee at a favorite local cafe and then an adventure discovery walk. Today didn't disappoint. The car boot sale was buzzing with locals selling their wares and garden produce. Charlie was delighted to find not one but two Brum cars (his most favorite character at this present moment, even over riding Thomas the Tank Engine)
I fell in love with this piece of kitsch, it takes pride of place in Sadie's room. The wee birds reminded me of Sadie, plus her nick name is 'baby bird'. BUT baby bird is growing up fast, I can officially say that today she started crawling, a bit shaky at first, but give her a couple of days and there will be no stopping her!
I was over the moon to find this box of vintage embroidery wool in an array of gorgeous colors.
and just look at the color of this wool blanket! All for $10.
The highlight of the day was visiting my friend down the road. She wanted the children to pick their own apples, walnuts and grapes from her backyard. The smell of grapes was divine, a heady sweet sticky smell lingering in the air. It was so much fun and satisfying.
At the end of the day we bartered some of our grapes for some fresh field mushrooms. Surely this is the way we are suppose to live?
