So you've heard of loom bands right? It's a huge craze right now and the story begins with Sadie coming home from school asking me if I could buy her some. Like anything I like to search on the web first (to find the best deal) and came across this article. So I read it to the children.
The next day Charlie came home with a large amount of loom bands that he picked up off the school grounds. We counted over 100 loom bands! Even I was a bit shocked. Charlie being a huge animal lover has made it his job to pick up every loom band he finds on the ground.
Next thing I have Charlie's teacher telling me that Charlie's loom band concerns had started a debate in class. The class was divided with children like Charlie concerned for the welfare of animals and then other children who enjoyed making things from them.
Word got around and we then had the local paper asking us if they could they report on Charlie's little campaign. You can read the article here.
Don't tell Charlie, but I'm not personally against loom bands, but I feel so proud that he believes in something so passionately. So Sadie won't be getting any loom bands, but we plan to do some finger knitting instead. Will let you know how we get on.
